Fourth Blog Post Assignment

Fourth Blog Post Assignment

Dustin Never

So what have I learned about doing this blog?  Blogging to me has been a worthwhile experience that has opened my eyes to my own writing and that of others.  I have been able to better myself as a writer and have gotten the opportunity to look back and re-observe my writing process for my annotated bibliography.  It was very helpful actually taking the time and thinking through my annotated bibliography, which blogging made me do.  I also learned a lot from looking at other people’s ideas and how they went about the annotated bibliography assignment.

By blogging I learned what to concentrate on in my paper and was able to take a closer look to see if my sources were solid or if they needed work.  I was able to use the feedback I was given to find better sources.  For example I was able to find two great articles from men’s health, which Ms. Ingram suggested I try.  I was also able to find an experiment about Gatorade and its effects on performance from the schools database.  Without using this blogging tool I would have never been able to find all the great information I found.  I know have both positive and negative aspects of all three of the products I decided to concentrate my research on.

The only thing that blogging didn’t significantly help me with was on how to format my paper.  Blogging helped me to know what to put in my paper, where to find what to put in it, but not how to put the information into my paper.  I was able to figure out how to format my paper after the first group workshop.  I saw that the format I wrote my annotated bibliography in was not correct, so I changed it.  So now my paper is solid from the information that is in it to how it is put in the paper.

Overall blogging was a good experience that I may consider in the future if I find a topic I am well informed on, and interested in.  Blogging is a great way to get information out there that you feel is important.  Not only am I now interested in blogging myself I am also interested in looking at and reading other peoples blogs.  It can be a great way to stay informed and see different points of views.  This was proven to me when I read some of my classmate’s blogs.

  1. RE: your 3rd paragraph
That's what workshopping is for, so your group did good work! Also, that's what the assignment handout was for.
